Light My Fire

As Winter approaches, a different beauty touches Tuddenham Mill. Vivid Summer gives way to a gentler pace. Our corner of Suffolk is now all about lit fires and fallen leaves on country paths. Wood-smoke lingers in still air and morning mists drift over our Meadow. Muted sunlight filters through our beautiful centuries-old Mill. The perfect spot for a wander in the Suffolk Autumn countryside.

It's peaceful and reserved, and with our ‘Light My Fire’ package offering midweek stays from just £215 per couple, a luxurious getaway in the Suffolk countryside needn’t be hard on the pocket.

Treat yourself or cosy up with a loved-one. Watch the pale sun dip below the poplars from your secluded Nook hot-tub and listen to wild deer call in the distance or sink into the luxury of space in a stunning Loft bedroom.

Eat well. East Anglia’s larder is bursting at this time of year and brings fresh vigour to the kitchen. Chef-patron Lee and his team are turning the abundance into unforgettable dishes. Pull up a chair in our Upstairs at the Mill restaurant for Breckland venison with buttered new-season cavolo nero, or magnificent ex-dairy tomahawk steaks with punchy horseradish aioli - the beef from our own herd. Our taleggio cauliflower cheese is special, and the wild pear tarte tatin with Fen Farm Dairy’s cultured cream is seasonal perfection.

Our cosy Tipi is the place for MUSSELS-MEAT-WHEAT with bowls of plump Norfolk mussels drenched in smoked garlic and garden parsley, and ex-dairy beef buns laced with Cambridge-made Orriss & Son hot sauce.

We’d love to welcome you. Stay Sunday-Thursday from just £215 per couple* until 31 January. The price includes breakfast, plus either £60 per couple towards dinner Upstairs at the Mill or two courses in the Tipi (excluding drinks).

Lay in and have the team bring breakfast in bed. Freshly baked Wild fruit Danish, or a delicious sourdough toastie with Roseanna Thompson Isleham sausages and local eggs. Delicious!
