Our little secret...
Come this way… Let me share a secret...
Welcome to our lovely new al fresco restaurant! It’s on the edge of our meadow, in a part of Tuddenham Mill that you might not have explored before.
Our brilliant chefs have created a beautiful Secret Garden menu, prepared in our kitchens and served – safely – either in the shade of our heated canopy tent, or at spaced-out tables on the grass. Small boxes of crisp arancini, charcuterie, fresh-picked allotment salads will go perfectly with a glass of fizz or a Nethergate beer as you watch the sun dip over our meadow. If you’re hungrier, try our bigger boxes, maybe fresh, summery lobster claw pappardelle, or a luscious brisket burger cooked to order in our Bertha charcoal oven, topped with melting Baron Bigod cheese. It’s a different menu, but we’ll keep plenty of the Tuddenham touches you love, we’ll still choose the very best ingredients and prepare them with care.
Finish with a choux box, a clutch of little choux buns with hazelnut cream and Tosier chocolate, or Suffolk strawberries and meadowsweet.
We think this is going to be a secret you’ll want to share.
The Secret Garden is being planned to open on Saturday July 4th. Food and drink available from 11.30am-8pm every day. Booking preferable as space is limited. Card payments only.
Hideaway
We’ve got some blissful escapes lined up for you this summer! Bring yourself and your loved one away to the Suffolk countryside for some well-deserved R&R. Stay in one of our luxurious rooms from £245 per couple (including breakfast and £30 towards dinner in the Secret Garden) and unwind, far from everyday stresses. Wander in our acres of meadow, feel the Suffolk breeze, enjoy good food… and relax.
For a truly private escape, why not have the Secret Garden menu delivered to the privacy of your own outdoor terrace?
To ensure everyone’s well-being, we will be opening just a handful of our gorgeous rooms when we are allowed. Bookings are open.
Masters of meat
We’re lucky to have one of East Anglia’s top butchers not far away. Greg and Jen Strolenberg at Lavenham Butchers have worked tirelessly to keep people in the village and local area fed during lockdown, not just with incredible meat but homemade pies, fabulous fruit and veg, and a beautiful array of deli products. We always support the best local producers, and we can’t wait to have their meat on the menu when our main restaurant re-opens.
Hospitality Action
From cycling thousands of (collective) miles to raising Pounds for Puds, there’s been some incredible fundraising for Hospitality Action during the coronavirus pandemic. We would like to thank the charity for its vital and constant support of everyone who works in the hospitality industry.
