The Road Back to East Anglia
THE ROAD TO EAST ANGLIA
And your perfect 2021 staycation
I’ve always felt lucky to have grown up in the East of England, a part of the British Isles that’s steeped in food and farming history. I’d like to share my love for this part of the world with you, and invite you to taste and experience what makes it so special.
Take the Road to East Anglia this year, explore the region, relax and re-connect with friends and loved ones, and let us take care of the hospitality.
We’ve been inundated with questions recently, so I thought I’d answer a few here about our plans in the coming months….
When are you re-opening? Can we book?
Outside dining from Monday April 12th – and yes, bookings are open! At Tuddenham Mill there’s our gorgeous Tipi by the Water; at The Chequers our Pavilions are all set for that first meet-up with friends and family. The Lifeboat Inn? All I can say is… watch this space!
Inside? Book now for tables in all of our restaurants from Monday 17th May.
What about bedrooms?
We’re excited to be opening a select few of our rooms as self lets from April 12th.
Give us a call and we’ll tell you more…
Then from May 17th, we’re back doing what we do best, lock, stock and two smoking barrels!
We can’t wait to eat out again – what’s on the menu?
Outside at the Mill and Chequers it’s all about the best seasonal ingredients, superb wines and fantastic cocktails – our espresso martinis are quite something! Come for crab linguini, big lobsters, delicious meats cooked over coals. Summer food that’s the perfect backdrop for quality time with friends and family you’ve missed.
New to the Lifeboat taps is our very own Lifeboat Lager, crafted during lockdown by Thornham's own top barman Jimbo in collaboration with Greene King. We’re stocking up with Wherry and cask ales too, and writing menus packed with generous family favourites, and of course, our famous whitebait.
The chefs and I are finalising a beautiful new tasting menu for the Tuddenham Mill restaurant, inspired by the East Anglia that I love, and with new wine pairings by Will, our restaurant manager. I promise you, it’ll be special! Stunning Norfolk seafood will take centre-stage at The Chequers restaurant, with what we think is our best menu yet.
Norfolk or Suffolk – what do you recommend?
That’s easy, do both! Call or email now and we’ll help you create your perfect East Anglian staycation. We’ll tell you about less-explored as well as must-see places, and share those open-air, off the beaten track spots we locals love. This is the year to raise a glass and make beautiful new memories.
Good times are coming.
